A wire wrapped Labradorite pendant. I have used a piece of faceted Labradorite gemstone, green coloured wire and silver plated wire to create a unique pendant.
This beautiful piece of Labradorite has a grey body colour with flashes of greenish yellow so is sure to attract compliments.
The wire is silver plated copper, it is nickel and lead free.
The pendant measures approx. 40mm long (longest point) and approx. 24mm (widest point). I have used a silver/black tone mesh chain approx. 45 cm (18 inches) long to suspend the pendant. The pendant is wrapped slightly differently on both sides.
Labradorite was said to have been the Aurora Borealis trapped in rocks until an Inuit warrior freed them with a blow from his spear. Some of the colours from the Aurora remained in the rocks giving us the wonderful play of colour that can be seen in Labradorite.
Labradorite is said to be a stone of transformation and change, an aid to stimulate the imagination and calm and overactive mind.
These gemstones have been faceted by skilled lapidarists in India.
Designed and made by hand, in Co Roscommon, Ireland. All metal is Sterling Silver. Nickel and lead free.
