The stunning deep blue of the Lapis Lazuli gemstone is combined with the fun and dainty Sterling Silver circle of 4 butterflies, all on an 44cm (18 inch) sterling Silver chain. The pendant drop is approx. 4cm (1.74 inches). All metal is .925 Sterling Silver, nickel and lead free.
This beautiful blue gemstone has been used since ancient times, it was used in ancient Egypt as eyeshadow, it was also used to decorate the death mask of King Tutenkhamun. It was ground down and used as Ultramarine blue paint during the Renaissaince and used to paint iconic historic artwork and statues in cathedrals.
Lapis Lazuli is a birthstone for September, it is associated with the zodiac star signs of Taurus, Virgo, Sagitarrius, and Libra. It is linked to the throat and third eye chakra. Lapis is known as the stone of wisdom, it is said to alleviate insomnia and alleviate depression.
