Beautiful Sterling Silver Earrings made with natural Labradorite gemstones.
I have made this pair of earrings using a coin shaped faceted disc of Labradorite with a sterling silver frame and a faceted Labradorite drop bead. The earwires are a dappled/ hammered effect Sterling silver for added luxury and lustre. The natural Labradorite gemstones have been faceted to show off their beauty and labradorescence.
The earrings are approx. 73 mm long (approx. 3 inches) including the sterling silver ear wire. The gemstone drops are approx. 50mm (2 inches ) long.
The Labradorite has a grey body colour. The coin shaped Labradorite has flashes of blue, yellow and green. The long drop of Labadorite has flashes of blue. The gemstones will move and catch the light each time you move your head, sure to get you lots of compliments. The earrings will enhance almost any outfit.
The sterling silver ear wires are approx. 4mm thick so are slightly thicker than standard earwires.
There is a separate listing for a matching pendant.
Labradorite was said to have been the Aurora Borealis trapped in rocks until an Inuit warrior freed them with a blow from his spear. Some of the colours from the Aurora remained in the rocks giving us the wonderful play of colour that can be seen in Labradorite.
Labradorite is said to be a stone of transformation and change, an aid to stimulate the imagination and calm and overactive mind.
These gemstones have been faceted by skilled lapidarists in India. I use ethically mined/sourced in my jewellery, wherever possible.
Designed and made by hand, in Co Roscommon, Ireland. All metal is Sterling Silver. Nickel and lead free.
